Title: Children’s Rights Worker(s)

We have a number of exciting opportunities within the Oldham Children’s Rights Team, we are looking for both Senior Workers and Workers to provide an effective and efficient Children’s Rights service to be provided to Oldham Children and Young People in Care. The service also provides advocacy for children and young people who are subject to an Initial Child Protection Conference. We are open to applications from full and part time workers, working in accordance with service requirements which may include some evening and weekend work. The Children’s Rights team will provide advocacy support to children and young people in care, assist them with complaints and work to support care plans with colleagues in the council and partner agencies. The Children’s Rights team will also support the Independent Visitor service in terms of the recruitment, supervision, training, and retention of volunteers. They will also assist with training and participation events. The Children’s Rights team will work in partnership with the positive functioning of the Children in Care Council, assisting with improving services for all Children and Young People in Care. These post(s) may have supervisory responsibilities for both workers and volunteers the within the service. Employees of Oldham Children’s Right Service have a responsibility for, and must be committed to, safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and for ensuring that they are protected from harm. Appointment is subject to a satisfactory references and enhanced disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service.
